William Morris inspired mosaic outside Walthamstow School for Girls, E17. <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This beautiful mosaic is based on William Morris\u2019 tapestry of Epping Forest called The Brook. It is a continuation of the mosaics on the street outside Walthamstow School for Girls, all based on William Morris and the Arts and Crafts Movement. There are now more than ten public mosaics on Church Hill E17 for all to enjoy, 24\/7. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This special mosaic was made to celebrate the life of the super talented Emily. Emily was a pupil at Walthamstow School for Girls and went on to study fashion. The image her family chose for the design is a reminder of the many happy bike rides and walks they took in the forest. Emily\u2019s family and friends made all the blue tiles in the surround, pressing meaningful objects in and carving personal designs. The photographic transfers are images from her sketchbook, she was a very talented artist.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
