Inspired by Klimt and the local geography (The River Misbourne), pupils came up
with the idea of seasons to represent their progress through education (hence the triangular leaves changing
colour from bright spring green through to icy wintery white). The area is also famous for its Red Kites,
one of which we included, along with 4 other locally sighted birds. The birds symbolised growth, freedom and spreading one's wings. "We have had some fantastic response to the mural from staff and the students alike which has made me very proud of all the work we did. It looks fantastic today as the sun is shining so brightly, the mirror sparkles and really looks like water" Martha Cadle, Art Teacher, The Misbourne |
